The Book Project

An installation at the New York Public Library. The New York Public Library has become little more than a pop-culture icon for millions of tourists a year. They come to the steps, take a picture and walk away. A few more may take the tour, but very few actually use the library for its original purpose. We wanted to re-engage those people with the library's real purpose, a vessel for knowlege, in a fun yet meaningful way.

The Book contained pages of typed words, which could be punched out and manipulated much akin to the popular magnetic poetry found on refridgerators. The words ranged from the politically leaning to the silly, and created poems and sentences sometimes emotionally charged and sometimes funny.
